SATO to Show RFID Blood Management Automation at AABB 2023 Annual Meeting
SATO, a global pioneer in the development of auto-ID and labeling solutions, will demonstrate its latest lineup of ISO 18000-3 Mode 2 (PJM) retrofit kits for US-manufactured refrigeration and agitation appliances at the annual meeting of the AABB (Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies) held in Nashville, Tennessee from October 14 to 17. SATO Corporation will show PJM RFID blood management products at booth 1149. SATO America, LLC will show labeling solutions for hospitals, labs and blood banks at booth 1148.
PJM RFID enables frictionless blood management that is easily integrated into existing workflows, requiring no changes to handling procedures or blood storage capacity. SATO’s PJM products, crafted together with integration partners, enhance patient safety by providing real-time inventory visibility. They also streamline existing workflows with unattended and remote stock-taking and automate compliance with auditable logs.
“As a manufacturer of PJM RFID reader products, printers and labels, SATO serves as a single point of contact for hospitals and blood centers’ hardware and consumable needs,” explained Kevin Allart, vice president of SATO Healthcare Co., Ltd. and healthcare market strategy lead at SATO Holdings Corporation. “We automate blood management and compliance processes with refrigeration and agitation appliance retrofitting, shelving units, conveyor-fed tunnel readers for bulk processing, readers, printers and label stock for all transfusion products.”
PJM RFID is a high-frequency (HF) technology fully compliant with the ISBT Guidelines for the use of RFID in Transfusion Medicine and is not absorbed by biological agents or liquids, making it safe and reliable to read large volumes of liquid products, including blood.
