The CS-9018 will cut and stack tickets from 1” to 3.5” wide, and ticket lengths from 2” to 4.5”. It is recommended for the best performance, the ticket length should 1.3 or greater times the width.

Separators can be printed on the form during the variable printing process, prior to finishing by the CS-9018. By printing across the edge of two tickets, when these are slit into two individual tickets and stacked on edge, the print at the very edge will appear as a shade or shadow. These separators will be evident in the deck of stacked tickets. Using different separator positioning or printed patterns such as long, short, or dashed, the CS-9018 operator can differentiate between size, color, job, or destination from one another in the finished stack. Typically separator tickets included the printed bands across the ticket edges and header information for the user, which become the routing or trailer to identify the stack of cut tickets.
The Inline (loop control) interface for the CS-9018 will allow the cutter to operate simultaneously with an upstream device. The loop interface will stop and restart as the loop tension varies. The cutter will stop if the loop where to end. There are additional control points available to provide a control signal to manage the upstream device if the cutting is interrupted.
The fuzzy edge of a fanfold can be ecstatically displeasing. The CS-9018 through the variable programming can be configured to cut between the rows of tickets in the middle of a sheet and at the fanfold cut on both sides of the fold perforation. This cutting before and then after the perforation removes the fold as a chip. The double-cut is programmable at any time, or every time.
The CS-9018 is known for its cutting of tag stock, up to 20mill. There are many applications where it is also cutting labels, both at the liner and combination of liner and face stock. Contact a SATO representative to learn more about the various applications and offerings of media.
The CS-9018 can store up to 99 job definitions or configurations. By defining and storing job set-ups, the operator can simply recall a stored configuration and switch to another job type. The settings include the ticket length, the number across, the speeds, and feed rates to optimize the cutting and sacking operations. The operator can also make dynamic adjustments during running for their preference or environmental accommodations. These are not saved, and the next recall will default back to the nominal settings stored.
You can use the CS-9018 for multiple jobs and form types. To alter the configuration of a CS-9018, you can recall the settings from one of 99 jobs that you can custom design. The ticket length is stored in this configuration. You can name these by number and name. To change the width of the tickets or the number across, the user can swap the Slitter assembly by loosening two clamp screws. These are available as options, so you can have multiple slitter assemblies available to swap as necessary. Using convenient knobs and a ruled indicator, the stacker table position can be adjusted infinitely for the ticket length and width during the operation.
The slitter assembly and cross-cut knife assembly may be managed as consumables to ensure uptime of the CS-9018. SATO America provides refurbished services to these assemblies to keep them cutting smoothly and cleaning. There is also a vacuum filter that can be cleaned (replacements available) by the user to keep the feeding and stacking optimized.
The CS-9018’s manufactured from 2020, are up to 35% faster than earlier versions. The CS-9018 throughput is usually recognized in the number of tickets cut and stacker over time. The ticket length and how frequently a stop to cut is necessary, varies the linear web speed across a range of 36 to nearly 60 feet per minute. When combined with the variable of the ticket width, and the number of tickets across (or in each cut), the total number per period varies tremendously. CS-9018s manufactured in 2020 and later, include changes to combat against component obsolesce. These changes are all compatible with earlier model cutters. Our SATO Service representatives can provide you with more details.
